Today\u2019s Technique Thursday topic is something that has facilitated me for several years. Traditional Zentangle is quite an art. There is a specific training required to teach this style. It is quite popular amongst the Scrapbooking crowd. Personally I just don\u2019t have the patience to do something as intricate as a Mandela or a large piece involving many types of tangles, however I could draw zentangled letters and hearts all day long. One of my favorite books is \u201cZenspirations by Joanne Fink\u201d she also has a book on Dangles which is as the name suggests the long dangly elements in the letters below. I also recently purchased \u201cThe Art of Drawing Dangles by Olivia A. Kneibler\u201d it is amazing. It has detailed instructions on how to do each letter as well as many words. I am sure I will be referring to it often.<\/p>\n

The best thing about this type of drawing is that you can do it anywhere. Most kits to get you started include pre-cut small pieces of card stock. You could get started with your trusty pencil and some blank no lined index cards. I did the alphabet in the pictures on my iPad Pro. They were part of a monthly challenge on Instagram for the month of June. I couldn\u2019t decide between the two D\u2019s so included them both. My J looks more like a cross between a 7 and a saxophone LOL so I need to work on that particular letter a bit more. \u00a0 I encourage you to take a few moments and try it out for yourself.
