30th High School Reunion

WOW I can hardly believe that I have been out of school this long. I don’t know about you but I am always such a mixed bag of emotions leading up to my reunions. I am really super excited until about the week of and then the dread and insecurity sets in and I spend a majority of the week changing my mind about attending. I have gone to all of them except the 15th. The negative voices won out that year. They lost by a very narrow margin for my 20th. It was snowing that evening and even during the 45 minutes drive I was second guessing my decision. Once there I had a fabulous time and don’t regret going. For my 25th I was on the committee putting it together so didn’t have a choice. Once again I had a fabulous time and very little arguing with myself about whether or not I was going to attend. So this year of course I was excited right up until about 4 days before. The negative voices reared their ugly head again. Luckily my miserly side won out in that I paid to attend and didn’t want to be out that money. Yes there were still moments where I really felt like I just didn’t fit it but that was very short lived. I very much enjoyed catching up with my classmates. Especially a few that I hadn’t had a chance to at previous reunions. So as I sat here looking over the pictures posted from this years reunion I can’t help but feel blessed to have such a great group of classmates. I wish more would have been able to attend. Maybe we will see more at our 35th. For those of you that have never attended one of your class reunions I highly encourage you to give it a try you might be pleasantly surprised.
